Question: tax return online?
ok i did my taxs last yr online, i got my money and everything but a few months later i received a letter, (which i cant find ) but i remember it saying something that i needed to mail it back signed well i changed jobs and well i could not find it and finally i found it online, but anyways i never did it. what can happen to me this yr when i fill my tax return, any advise on what to do? who to contact?
Answer: If the letter was from the IRS, they were looking for your 8453-OL.
Get one for 2006 at irs.gov (enter 2006 in the search box). If you no longer have your email when the tax return was acknowledged by the IRS, call the IRS and ask them to look at the efiled return and give you the temporary DCN. (It starts with 00- so if they give you a number that starts with anything else, it's the permanent number.)

Do Tax Return

Question: How do I file my tax return if my combat pay was included in box 1 wages and I am a civilian working contract?
Was my W-2 incorrect? Or is there some other line i need to fill in on my tax return to reduce this income?
Answer: No, your W-2 is correct. Only active military below a certain rank qualify for the combat pay exclusion. As a civilian employee, you aren't eligible.
