Question: Where can I file a complaint against the Ford Motor Company for a defect in an F-250 Superduty...?

Ford put out an internal circular indicating they had a badly designed radiator for their 1999-2000 year model superduty diesel pickup trucks that caused the transmission to overheat and burn out the torque converter. They knew about this but didn't inform the consumer so they could get replacement parts before they (like us) incurred a very pricey repair service.

You can also call the DOT Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236) or 1-800-424-9393 and a NHTSA representative will record your report.

has some great information. Ford does have the following options available-

Contact Ford: Call Ford's Customer Assistance Center at 800-392-3673 to register a complaint. If they cannot resolve your complaint, ask for an arbitration package for the Dispute Settlement Board (see below).

Dispute Settlement Board: This is Ford's arbitration program for reimbursement of repairs or buyback of a lemon. If you get a bad decision, you can reject it and take Ford to court. If you accept it, Ford must abide. Both the consumer and Ford submit comments and records to the board by mail. In most cases, the board will not hear a complaint outside the express warranty - the length of which varies for the powertrain, emissions & other components. Important: The consumer is allowed to rebutt Ford's comments. This can improve your chances and you should take advantage. If you have not received a Dispute Settlement Board arbitration package from Ford Customer Assistance Center, write to Dispute Settlement Board, PO Box 5120, Southfield MI 48086-5120.

Question: llc california or foreign llc?

I am a real estate investor, I live in California. I work in california, texas and another states buying real estate.
I want to know, how to set up LLC FOR THIS BUSINESS. where to file llc to hold my properties in those states and where to file LLC to buy for short term and flipp properties immediatelly. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS.

Answer: You'd probably be better off asking this question in the legal or tax section, but I'll give it a shot...

The reason for incorporating in one state or another have to do with which states laws would cover you in 1) liabiliaty and 2) tax situations. This makes less sense in real estate because the property is in One state (vs online sales for example where a transaction would be between jurisdictions). You should probably stick to CA LLCs because your res is here and the properties are likely to be here as well. Even if you are dealing with a TX property - you have to file a CA return as an individual so you probably get stuck with CA tax anyway...

Question: Where can I find a will and executor paperwork for free?

I am wanting to put together my Living Will, Will, and Executor papers, but all the sites I have looked at cost $9.99 and above...I don't want to pay an attorney to do this for me. Do you know a web site for Ohio Wills, Living wills, and Executor for free...I already made my Power of Attorney and that cost me $28.00 to file. I would rather pay the filing than the preparation...Please, if you know a site that would help, thank you. Once again, it has to be for Ohio. Even if they are just examples, that would be great too.

Answer: As a second year law student who is currently studying property, I would STRONGLY recomend just paying the money and using the attorney. Granted it will cost more than $9.99, but it will save your heirs much hassle and it will be the best way to ensure that your wishes are carried out. You have to use very specific language to make your intentions crystal clear. More general advice: A good accountant and a good lawyer will SAVE you more money than you will spend on them.
