Question: Why We are not deductiing TDS on leave encashment provision ?

TDS has to be deducted on the accrual or payment of expenses which are liablie to TDS. However y we are not deducting TDS on Leave enchashment provision were leave encashed during the period of work is taxable under section 192 ?

Answer: TDS is deducted on leave encashment only on payment basis. Leave accrued can be either encashed or leave availed in subsequent year in which case no payment will be there. Therefore TDS is applicable for leave encashment only on payment basis.

Question: Isn't it amazing how republicans will sieze any small issue and try to use it to criticize Obama?

Some right winger posted her mouth foaming complaint that the IRS would tax the money given to Gulf Coast residents from BP, as if this is an issue even worth considering.

Thousands of us from shrimpers to bar tenders are filing claims with BP for lost wages.
Compensation for lost wages is probably a taxable event as you would have paid taxes on these wages anyway.
My daughter is a waitress here and recieved her first BP check for $2500.00 She immediately set aside the portion of the money to cover taxes that she would have ordinarily paid of the money. Just good planning on her part with a little help from old dad.

This is just an example of how republicans will try and make a mountain out of a mole hill anytime they can. Imagine that.....paying taxes on your wages. Obama is destroying the country.

Answer: The Republicans are on a mission. DESTROY OBAMA, even though it's mission impossible.

Not only do they seize any small issue to criticize him, they make up issues to criticize him.

What really gets me is they call him a Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Fascist and every other type of government they can think of, which only shows how confused they are. He can't be all of them. I just wish they'd make up their mind and stick with one. Since they just can't make up their minds, this shows me that he's as Democratic as they come.

The Republicans are so confused, they don't know what's up, or down, or sideways. It's got to be from mixing all the tea's they drink at their ridiculous tea party rallies. No wonder they're a dying party.
