Question: irs.gov What form do I use to file an ammendment on my tax return?
Answer: 1040X (don't forget the state forms too) in CA it's 540X
Don't listen to "truckerkid" - it's easy. You have the original numbers in one column, the corrected numbers in another and then the difference. You must include a copy of the original return marked "as filed" and a copy of the corrected return marked "as amended"
